Question:
What groups does my userid have to belong to?
Answer:
There are two userids that may affect your access to Folderscape:
Your Windows Userid - This is the userid you have used to log on to Windows.
Your NetApp Userid - This is the userid you enter in the "Connect To Filer"
window when you run Folderscape.
The following table tells you what groups these userids must belong to:
| Is the Filer a Windows Domain Member? |
Option You Select in the "Connect To Filer" Window in Folderscape |
Your Windows Userid Must Belong To These Groups |
Your NetApp Userid Must Belong To These Groups |
| Yes | Use My Windows Userid |
Administrators Folderscape_Base_group | |
| Yes | Use This NetApp Userid | Adminsitrators |
Folderscape_Base_group Folderscape_Login_group |
| No | Use This NetApp Userid | |
Administrators Folderscape_Base_group Folderscape_Login_group |
The "root" userid is a special case. It does not have to be a member of these groups.
To have additional authority (such as the authority to create qtrees) your userid must be a member
of additional groups (such as Folderscape_ManageQTree_group).
